Shamir is the Senior (lead) Clinical Dental Advisor for the GDC, Fitness to Practise. He is also a dental practice owner. Shamir has a number of roles in post graduate education including, Professor and course lead for the MSc in Restorative Dentistry at CoMD/ Ulster University, Visiting Professor at Radboud University Medical Centre, The Netherlands, Senior Clinical Teacher at King’s College London, and Chair of the Careers Pathways Reference Group at the College of General Dentistry. Shamir has also published numerous peer reviewed publications, including research on Tooth Wear, and has co-authored/ co-edited several textbooks on Tooth Wear and Aesthetic Dentistry
