Gina was introduced to the world of decontamination when she became quality/business manager in the sterile services department at Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham. Her main role was to gain accreditation to iso 13485 for the department, and once this was achieved, she moved on to manage a department in wales, as well as becoming decontamination lead. On retiring from the NHS she went on to do some consultancy work for a training company, which involved working in Saudi Arabia, for odd weeks at a time, as well as carrying out NVQ work in dental decontamination. GMC consultancy ltd was formed and Gina offered implementation of quality management systems to sterile services, endoscopy, maxillofacial, oral facial, dental and more recently technical services in a dental hospital. Gina also worked with departments to register their custom made devices with the MHRA. Gina is an experienced trainer and offers training in internal audit, risk management and quality awareness. As well as implementation of a quality system Gina will visit your department on an annual basis and audit your systems - this is particularly useful if you are a small department and do not need to be registered with a notified body.
