Learning Content
Most dental laboratories are shaped by legacy, not design. This session explores what changes when a lab is built intentionally from the outset, examining how early decisions around workflow, communication, and structure can redefine quality, efficiency, and long-term sustainability.
- Identify key limitations within traditional dental laboratory models -
- Understand the concept of incubator labs and their role in supporting emerging dental technologists -
- Explore how digital-first workflows and early design decisions influence laboratory sustainability -
- Consider how collaboration between technicians, clinicians, and educational institutions may evolve.
Aims
This session aims to examine how dental laboratories can be rethought when designed from the ground up, in response to digital, workforce, and clinical pressures. It introduces the incubator model as a pathway to reduce barriers, support innovation and sustainability, and strengthen clinician–technician collaboration, with Ameri Dental Lab as an early-stage reference.
